Baby MaMa
Thanks Chari for hosting this fun walk down memory posts.
I hope this is applicable to your Sunday Meme' rule book as this is a modified new post of an old RMS post. I'm sure you will remember it.
Our Very Own Baby MaMa
This clip was shot from my kitchen window today May 2,2009 . Actually, not true. I opened the window and stood in the sink to get this close up...Do you think she is posing?
If your interest is peeked enough to read further...
This is the fourth year running for this nest to be occupied. I don't know if it is the same bird or not? We assume it is as, she has become quite comfortable and I dare say a little demanding over the years. You may find my next statement a little unbelievable but, I promise, it is the absolute truth....She taps on the window if we leave the patio light on to late!!! Cute huh?
This years eggs
Always two!
If any of you all have info about hummingbirds.....Please. Share!

Oh Athella, how neat is that, and how hysterical that she reminds you to turn off the light! She has made herself right at home! The visual of you climbing into the sink to take the video cracked me up! laurie
Oh how cute, Athella! We have hummingbirds here too but I haven't seen babies...Christine
Athella, Thanks so much for stopping by and visiting! I really cant believe we are going to Sedona in August either, but oh well, it will be fun! I hope! I have read several of your posts and I want to go away with you and your sisters next year, that place looks fantastic! Where is it? Do they have a website?
This is really cool, I'm glad you shared this with us! ~ Robyn
Athella, what a great post! I adore hummingbirds and can't wait till they get to my neck of the woods. What a wonderful sight to wake up to everday and year after year. You are blessed...don't forget to turn the patio light off tonight! So adorable! Thanks, Sonia/Miss Bloomers
No advice but a story for you. I had a hummingbird fly in my door and land on the front window sill one day. I went over there and it just sat there on the sill and I picked it up. I knew it was in my hand, but I couldn't feel any weight just the vibration of it. I carried it outside and it flew away. Made my day. How lucky she has chosen you.
How cool is that!!!!!?????
Lucky duck!
The only things outside my kitchen windows are two very bad dogs who are eating my outdoor couch.
Hey Girlfriend...
I'm so glad that you decided to join in with the "Sunday Favorites" fun again this week! Girl, there's no rules...well, guess there is one...TO HAVE FUN!!! Hehe!!!
I DO remember your little mama from RMS...she's just spectacular!!! Surely she is the same bird if she keeps coming back to the same nest after 4 years! I watched your video several times...it's just so unique to get such good shots of a hummingbird! I love it!!! I have to tell you though, I would have loved seeing a photo with you up in the sink...hanging out the window to film your little mama! hehe!!!
This was a great post, Sweetie! Thank you so much for sharing it with all of us!
Have a super Sunday!
Love ya,
Chari
PS...were those the voiced of your grandkids that I heard in the video? So sweet!!!
That was too cute!!!! I love that she taps on the window to tell you to turn off the light.
Ditto what Laurie said!! Our yellow lab sleeps at night in her kennel in our study. At night we let her in for a bit but if we're not giving her enough attention and she's ready to retire for the night she goes and gets in her kennel and then barks at us to come close it! She's getting demanding in her old age of 7! God Bless! Lauralu :)
Hey girl! I meant to remind you to come over and visit the Biltmore! I got some good pics! Lauralu :)
10 things about myself...I will have to think on that one. Thanks
GM Athella...Girl I really enjoyed this post my friend..how cute are those tiny eggs..My Mama use to have hummingbirds that would land her her hand..and I mean like they would just cover my Mama's hand..She would try and sit outside at her Cabo home and they would be all over her..May you have a great Sunday dear friend...Hugs and smiles Gl♥ria
How cute...tapping on the window for you to turn the light out. I guess you were keeping her up.
The only rule is that it be a repost.
I LOVE this!!!! We put hummingbird feeders out each year but we have NEVER had a nest close enough to see it. I think I feel hummer envy coming on!!!!
I can't wait to show this to my grandson. We were just talking about hummingbird nests. He was explaining to me how tiny they are......what a treat to get to watch these adorable little guys every year.
One of my dear friends just moved to St. George! I'm hoping to go down to help her do some decorating in September.
Blessings,
Spencer
This is so wonderful and amazing and funny.
Thanks for letting us be a part of the fun.
Blessings,
Barbara Jean
Amazing Athella! What a wonderful gift.. makes doing those dishes kind of special. How are you? We are hangin in here.. my son that was helping sooooo much went back to work today..hopefully my magical energy boost works.. Love, Cindy
Anthella, How WONDERFUL to have a hummingbird to choose you as a host!!! Hummingbirds are very friendly and will also sit on your finger, Sounds like you have provided all the elements for her to nest year after year. Yes, that is the same bird, they return every year to the same spot. They love feeders and water and plenty of flowers. But as long as there is food source and water and protective shelter~~~you have a permanent guest. LUCKY GIRL~~ It is so amazing that you can visit as often as you like with this sweet little bird.~~~ I DO HAVE HUMMER ENVY !!!!! Thanks so much for sharing this beautiful little lady with us!!! Made my day!!! Blessings, Deborah
Good mornin' Athella! Thanks for stopping by. Hadn't heard from you in a while! This is the Biltmore estate in Asheville, NC. It's just over the TN border. Did you look at the gardens in the post before? So pretty! Let's just say that we have a 17 yr. old boy. I think that probably clarifies why dear sweet Laurie is praying for me and the family! Nothing horrible, just the normal acute defiance and attitude! We're in the middle of the gardens at the Biltmore and we get a call from our son's school. He had decided to take the day off!! Most of the formal gardens were spent listening to my DH over the phone screaming at my son! Oh yeah! Birthdays are wonderful aren't they?!?! God Bless you today! Lauralu :)
Hey Girlfriend...
So nice to find a note from you today...how are you doing Sweetie? Are you staying busy with work projects?
So glad that you came by and took a peek at my Mother's Day tablescape...and thank you for your sweet compliments!!! Do you have special plans for Mother's Day?
Have a wonderful Mother's Day, Sweetie!!!
Love ya,
Chari
Hi Athella,
My neighbor at the lake has tons of hummingbirds and has nests in her trees (she is religious about feeding them). But as far as me knowing anything about them~nothing really. I really enjoyed seeing the nest though!
Have a great weekend and thanks for visiting me and leaving your nice comments! :-D
xoxo
